Deadlines to apply are:
Upon completion of these requirements a student can apply to nursing by January 15 for the following fall semester or by August 15 for the following spring semester. All students will be notified of their admission status approximately 2 months after the application deadline.
Before students can begin nursing classes they must have:
Minimum grade of C or higher in BIO 209/209L (Anatomy and Physiology II)
Minimum grade of C or higher in PSY 321 or EDU 300 (Lifespan Development)
Minimum grade of C or higher in BIO 126 (Human Nutrition)
Minimum grade of C or higher in CHE 115/115L (Physiological Chemistry)
Minimum grade of C or higher in STA 205 or STA 212 (Statistics)
Minimum college GPA of 3.0 or higher
The nursing curriculum will take 6 semesters (3 years) to complete. The nursing classes must be taken in the sequence they are offered. BIO 202/202L (Microbiology) is a co-requisite with nursing semester 1 but may be taken prior. INF 355 (Healthcare Informatics) is a co-requisites with nursing semester 5 but may be taken prior.
Admission to the BSN Program is provisional pending successful completion of a criminal background check and TOEFL test, if needed.
The Kentucky Board of Nursing has regulations regarding previous convictions that must be addressed prior to sitting for licensure examination. All felony and misdemeanor convictions must be reported when applying for licensure.
