The DNP is designed for those in direct clinical practice and areas that support clinical practice-administration, organizational management and leadership, education, and policy.

Nursing Informatics

Through the use of cutting edge technology and online instruction, the Master of Science in Nursing offers seven tracks to prepare Registered Nurses for Advanced Nursing Practice.

Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Distance Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science(RN-BSN) program provides career mobility for the registered nurse who needs the high flexibility that distance education can provide.

The MSN advanced practice programs and DNP have full approval status from the Kentucky Board of Nursing. 

The RN to BSN, MSN, DNP and Post Masters are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Overall Certification Examination Pass Rate

The overall certification examination pass rate for all NKU Nurse Practitioner Programs is 89% for the period 2011 through 2014.



The Departments of Nursing and Advanced Nursing Studies at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) wish to announce that it will host a site review for continuing accreditation of its Baccalaureate, Masters and Post-Masters Certification nursing programs by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). You are invited to meet the site visit team and share your comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled at 5:15pm - 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Room 109 in the Student Union Building at NKU.
